lobal screen star Graham McTavish was born in Glasgow and learnt his trade in repertory companies in London and Dundee. He made his mark in a checklist of films appearing opposite Sylvester Stallone in both the Rocky and Rambo franchises - the only actor to do so – and TV classics such as Taggart, The Bill and Casualty.

International fame came in 2012 with his casting as the warrior dwarf Dwalin in Peter Jackson’s Hobbit trilogy. This was swiftly followed by his leading role as Dougal McKenzie, war chief, in the time-travel adventure Outlander, playing alongside the Jacobite hero, Sam Heughan. His unexpected return to the series in 2020 led to his becoming a best-selling author of Clanlands with co-star Sam Heughan, based on their successful TV road trip ‘Men in Kilts'. Sam will be appearing via videolink.

McTavish will talk about his life, career and his love and rediscovery of Scotland – while no doubt bringing news of his latest adventure as a master spy in Netflix’s international hit, The Witcher.
