Festival Friday - Supper Buffet Menu at Woodlands Restaurant (18:30)

New this year is a 2-course buffet supper on the Friday evening, at a special festival price of £20. A bar will be available and the menu is below.

Tables available to book for 17:30, 18:30 and 19:30, and walk-ins available until 21:00 so you can make an evening of it and eat either before or after your chosen events.

For James Boswell, the namesake of our festival, consumed his food with equal gusto as he did facts, lives, and information. For Boswell, man is “a cooking animal” and he lived as if he were eager to maximise this advantage over the beasts of our planet by dining with style and extravagance.

You too can dine in style over the weekend May 9-11 in the Woodlands Restaurant in the grounds of Dumfries House.

Creamy Salmon and Broccoli Pasta
Baked Ayrshire Ham with a pink and black peppercorn sauce
Bang-Bang Cauliflower served with a roasted onion and firecracker sauce

Belgium waffles with raspberries, cream and an indulgent chocolate sauce
